DESCRIPTION:Youth For Christ Steinbach's youth drop-in centre\, Backstage\, has got a whole new look\, and they invite you to come enjoy the environment while learning about the important community work they do at the first Chamber Mixer in 2020.\n\n\n\nJoin us at Backstage on Thursday\, February 6th as we network\, enjoy delicious appetizers\, and step into the Backstage world to take a closer look at how they walk alongside and advocate for a segment of youth that don't connect in a lot of other places.  Catch up with some old and some new friends in the new year.  \n\n\n\nWhile networking\, come take a few minutes to participate in the Developmental Assets  checklist to see how you compare in resiliency to at-risk youth.  The Developmental Assets  are 40 research-based\, positive experiences and qualities that influence young people's development\, helping them become caring\, responsible\, and productive adults.  Over time\, studies of more than 5 million young people consistently show that the more assets that young people have\, the less likely they are to engage in a wide range of high-risk behaviors (ie. alcohol use\, violence\, illicit drug use\, sexual activity) and the more likely they are to thrive (do well in school\, be civically engaged\, value diversity).\n\n\n\nFor more information about YFC Backstage\, visit yfcsteinbach.com/backstage. \n\n \n\nCost: Free of charge to Chamber members upon RSVP.
