DESCRIPTION:In 2020\, as COVID-19 gripped the world\, the chamber network in Manitoba responded collaboratively and with urgency. With a mission to promote sustainable economic development\, the Chamber network has worked in lock-step across Canada\, pushing for the very survival of industry and independent businesses in our local communities.\n\n\n\nJoin us on April 29th as we hear from Chuck Davidson\, President and CEO of the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce (MCC)\, about 'Building Business Back Stronger' while our economy works to recover during and post-COVID-19. \n\n\n\nManitoba's chamber network is here to help our business community navigate this crisis with resilience. Hear more from Chuck about MCC's work communicating about the critical needs of Manitoba's business community\, advocating for meaningful emergency financial relief\, and more. You can read Chuck's latest message "A Year in the Life" here.\n\n\n\nChuck's presentation will be followed by a Q&A session. \n\n\n\n**Meeting instructions will be sent out to registrants shortly before the event date.\n\n\nAbout Chuck Davidson\n\nChuck Davidson is President & CEO of the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce (MCC)\, the largest business organization in the province\, representing nearly 10\,000 organizations throughout Manitoba. Under his leadership\, MCC has seen a renewed focus on policy and advocacy as the Voice of Business in Manitoba\, a 15% increase in revenues\, a 60% increase in event attendance\, the establishment of the Chamber Executives of Manitoba\, and recognition as an accredited Chamber of Commerce with distinction.\n\n \n\nPrior to joining MCC in 2013\, Chuck spent close to a decade at the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce as Vice-President\, Policy & Communications. A graduate of Red River College's Creative Communications program\, Chuck launched his career as an announcer and reporter with 680-CJOB radio\, before moving into communications and policy development roles where he has worked for the past two decades.\n\n\n\nChuck is a tireless community booster and a passionate champion of northern economic development. He was recently appointed to the board of the Province of Manitoba's Community Economic Development Fund\, serves as co-chair of the Look North initiative and the Provincial Tourism strategy. He is President of the Chamber of Commerce Group Insurance Plan and past-chair of the Canadian Chamber Accreditation Council as well as a past-chair of the South Winnipeg Community Centre.\n\n\n\nChuck grew up in Flin Flon and Snow Lake and now resides in Winnipeg with his wife and two hockey-loving sons.
