DESCRIPTION:The Business Development Committee is excited to offer this event in-person once again! \n\n\n\nThis event is targeted towards our local entrepreneurs\, managers and leaders who are interested in tapping into the wealth of local experience from seasoned business leaders from our community.This is a great opportunity for you to ask questions of these local experienced business owners at a moderated event. Hear how they have weathered the difficult times\, and maximized the good times for growth.\n\n\n\nThank you to our generous Mentors who have graciously donated their time and expertise to help make this event happen this year.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMEET OUR MENTORS\n\n\n\nCHRIS GOERTZEN - MAIN BREAD & BUTTER COMPANY\n\n\n\n\n\nChris is the owner and co-founder of Main Bread and Butter Company\, which has operated in Steinbach since 1997. He also is a shareholder and President of River Trail Development Corporation operating in numerous southeastern Manitoba communities. He is presently 2nd Vice Chair of the Steinbach Credit Union Board of Directors. In addition\, he is currently on the Board of Directors of the Bethesda Foundation\, where he is the Chair of the Governance Committee. Chris is also serving on the Board of Directors for the Mennonite Centre in Ukraine\, an international non-profit aid agency. Chris was elected mayor of the City of Steinbach for three terms from 2006 until 2018. During his tenure\, Steinbach became one of the fastest growing cities in Canada. He also served as President of the Association of Manitoba Municipalities\, was on the Executive of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities and sat on the Municipal Employee Pension Board.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRICHARD KROEKER - STEINBACH TRAILERS & RV\n\n\n\nRichard Kroeker is a managing partner at Steinbach Trailers & RV\, which in just a few short years has grown to be the largest trailer dealership in Southeast Manitoba. Richard has previous experience in automotive sales and management and was head of a local dealership at just 24-years-old. From there\, he moved into radio sales and climbed the ranks to become Vice President of Golden West Broadcasting - helping to grow the privately owned company to 44 radio stations and 18 websites across the Prairies. He excels at motivating teams to perform at their highest level and strategizing business growth. Richard was a part of the Advisory Committee that was instrumental in bringing the Steinbach Pistons to the community\, is a Past President for the Western Association of Broadcasters and the Broadcasters Association of Manitoba\, and has served on boards for the Kenora Economic Development Committee\, Youth for Christ Golf\, the Steinbach Chamber and Steinbach Downtown Merchants.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKAMI UNGER - UNGER MEATS & UNGER FEEDS\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKami Unger is the Administrative Director of Unger Meats and Unger Feeds. She is a senior advisor of operations and has recently completed a succession plan to ensure the future sustainability of the Unger Group of Companies. On a day to day basis\, she oversees the accounting and HR needs at Ungers. In her spare time\, Kami loves building relationships and making memories with her family and friends.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKEITH UNGER - RE/MAX PERFORMANCE REALTY\n\n\n\n\n\nKeith Unger began his career in Real Estate in 2003 nearly 20 years ago after graduating from the IH Asper School of Business with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree. In 2011\, Keith became co-owner of RE/MAX Performance Realty alongside his dad. Keith was the Steinbach Chamber of Commerce President before the age of 30\, was on the founding board and held chair for Steinbach's Summer in the City Festival and is currently on the Bethesda Foundation Board of Directors and coaches minor hockey. With a combined 45 years of experience\, Keith's well rounded team have held the Top Transaction Team for RE/MAX Manitoba and the Manitoba Real Estate Association Gold Team Medallion award for the last eight years. When Keith isn't working you'll find him with his wife Kassi and their two boys. They enjoy spending time outside water skiing\, attempting to catch a fish\, downhill skiing and snowmobiling. Inside\, you'll find Keith aspiring to be a world-renowned chef!
